SA’s best and brightest leaders
The brief
The Industry Leaders Fund (ILF) offers study grants of up to $50,000 to aspiring South Australian business leaders in a bid to build the state’s economy. These guys are big-wigs, from company directors to CEOs, and thanks to the ILF they get to study at the likes of Stanford and Harvard. The ILF also provides training, mentoring and networking opportunities to past and present scholars. STORYMKR was approached to take over the design, development and distribution of the ILF’s monthly digital newsletter, and to maintain its rather ad hoc LinkedIn presence.
The hustle
We took a good hard look at the newsletter and made recommendations to improve it from both a content and layout perspective. We came up with a few creative ways to better engage the ILF community, starting with a dedicated monthly feature, ‘Scholar in the Spotlight’, profiling – you guessed it – a Scholar and their backstory to success. We also implemented a Business Briefs section and used more images to break up the content-rich newsletter. As far as socials go, we created a content plan and calendar to strategically grow followers on the ILF LinkedIn page, positioning the organisation and creating brand awareness.
The result
If the plan was to attract new followers, the plan was a resounding success! Back before STORYMKR came on board, the ILF LinkedIn page had approximately 360 followers. Fast forward to 2024, it’s tracking at 1,200+! That’s an insane amount of growth – organic at that. With more than 2,500 reactions, 200 comments and 50 reposts across hundreds of posts – the page left over 100,000 impressions in 2023, with engagement averaging well above 10%! As far as the newsletter goes, open rates continually crack 60%, landing us firmly in the A++ category of a would-be school report. How’s that for good grades?
